Georgia Republicans Support Putting Riffraff in Federal Offices

The longer Donald Trump remains as President, the more revulsion the American people feel. And all but Trump’s minority base of misguided yahoos recognize the obvious truth: it’s not just Trump. It’s the Republican Party that is a burnt-out case of moral and intellectual bankruptcy.
Nowhere is that more evident than in the totally unqualified, incompetent boobs he has appointed to senior federal offices, with the approval of other Republicans—notably, Georgia’s Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Johnny Isakson, David Perdue, Barry Loudermilk, and Karen Handel.
The Washington Post has listed some of the people those good Georgia Republicans believe are great appointees:
  • Sam Clovis: chief scientist at the Agriculture Department. “…a position that by law must go to ‘distinguished scientists,’ ”but he is not a scientist. “He is a talk-radio host, economics professor (though not actually an economist, either) and…a Trump campaign adviser.” Clovis has said he is “extremely skeptical” of climate change, called homosexuality “a choice,” suggested gay rights would lead to legalized pedophilia, pushed the Big Lie Obama birther allegation, and called former Attorney General Eric Holder a “racist bigot” and Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez a “racist Latino.”
    • Alas, Clovis has had to withdraw his name, not because even Republicans saw the light, but because he became involved in Muellar’s Russiagate investigation. Turns out that George Papadopolous, a Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, had pleaded guilty to lying to investigators about his contact with Russian agents. And Clovis evidently was one of Papadopoulos’ superiors to whom he reported on those contacts—and may himself be in trouble with Muellar.
  • Robin Bernstein: Ambassador to the Dominican Republic. Bernstein speaks only basic Spanish, but she has membership at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club.
The Isakson, Perdue, Loudermilk, and Handel approved list of appointees gets better:
  • Sid Bowdidge: Assistant to the Secretary of Energy for energy efficiency and renewable energy. Before working for the Trump campaign, Bowdidge, from 2013 to 2015, was manager of the Meineke Car Care branch in Seabrook, N.H. He previously was service and branch manager for tire shops. Bowdidge, however, lost his job after it was discovered he had called Muslims “maggots.”)
  • Victoria Barton: In charge of congressional relations for certain regions in the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to working for the Trump campaign, Barton was an office manager and, between 2013 and 2015, a “bartender/bar manager.” His boss is HUD Secretary Ben Carson, a retired brain surgeon.
  • Christopher Hagan: Confidential assistant at the Agriculture Department. Before working on the Trump campaign, he was, between 2009 and 2015, a “cabana attendant” at Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. According to his résumé, he “identified and addressed customer’s needs in a timely and orderly manner.”
  • Nick Brusky: Also a confidential assistant at the USDA. The Trump campaign worker previously drove a truck. He was a trustee in Butler Township, Ohio, at the same time, and, as Politico noted, his résumé lists coursework but no degree.
  • David Matthews: Yet another confidential assistant at the Agriculture Department, developed scented candles while also serving as a “legal receptionist” before joining the Trump campaign.
Some of the other “best” people Trump has hired are:
  • Lynne Patton, HUD regional administrator, previously arranged Trump golf tournaments and arranged Eric Trump’s wedding, among other things.
  • Callista Gingrich, just confirmed as ambassador to the Vatican, prepared for this by writing children’s books, singing in a church choir — and being married to Trump ally Newt Gingrich.
The fact that Republicans like Isakson, Perdue, Loudermilk, and Handel approve the appointment of such unqualified people to federal office offers conclusive proof that they do not give one tinker’s damn about their country.
Georgia Republicans have been putting self and party above country for decades, and their contempt for us average Americans has reached new highs under Trump. The Republicans election of a racist, bigot, misogynist, xenophobic, bully in the first place showed their true feelings toward America.
Now their President’s approval rating has reached historical lows, and what we already know about Russiagate and Manafort & company shows Trump has established a corrupt kleptocracy almost equal to Putin’s–and still the likes of Isakson, Perdue, Loudermilk, and Handel continue to support him and his destructive program.

Why have Isakson, Perdue, Loudermilk, and Handel come to hate their country so much that they give us Donald Trump and revel in his misrule?
